So here's the new project. Every day, as a rule, I am posting a single observation here. The point is twofold:
1. to reacquaint me with the sense of engagement with my environment that feeds my inspiration. To teach me how to look deeply again, the way my eyes opened newly when i started using my camera and waited every moment for the next shot, an 8x10 viewfinder superimposed on my sight.
2. To reinforce to myself that the gift isn't limited. There's no drying reservoir of details draining with every poem, walls already starting to flake with the drought.

this is a wonderful idea. i think i'll try this out too.
yeah, me too! I love this.
I had this prompt I wanted to try and share with you ladies, called 24 hour Pittsburgh.
And basically the idea would be to move around Pittsburgh every hour to a different location and write a poem about what you see. 24 poems in total taking place maybe in the motion of a clock around the city, just giving the details.
We should all try it someday and combine what comes into a cool little zine.
Anyway thank you Ne for this idea- I am now writing again!
yes! you both should do this, too, if you feel so moved. i'd love to see how our observations feed off of and influence each other.
d - 24 hour pittsburgh sounds really great. i bet that all of the weird haunts and nooks around here would make for some great inspiration. it would be like a field trip of our home city. seems like a great idea for traveling time, too.
